Piercing Questions in Pierce

Posted By on Wed, Aug 4, 2010 at 9:54 AM

Traditionally, when Gov. C.L. "Butch" Otter rolls into one of Idaho's hamlets to declare it "Capital for a Day," it's a jovial occasion. Today, in the Clearwater community of Pierce, maybe not so much.

A number of healthcare providers are also making their way to Central Idaho to confront Otter on the Medicaid mess

Thousands of Medicaid providers say they're still wrestling with unpaid invoices, lack of reconciliation, and little to no communications with Molina, the third-party administrator charged with managing the reimbursement program.

Otter will be flanked by much of his cabinet on Wednesday, but the Director of Health and Welfare, Dick Armstrong, won't be there. Regional Director Ron Beecher will be representing the department.

The public will have access to the Governor and his minions on a first-come, first-served opportunity.
