An Idaho bank is warning its customers of a scam hitting a good many of its customers. Officials with Idaho First Bank, headquartered in McCall, are alerting their customers that a pre-recorded message sent out on Sunday was fraudulent.
Customers and some non-customers received calls stating, "Your Idaho First Bank debit card has been frozen. To take care of this, please press 1." The automated recording then asked for the 16 digit debit card number and expiration date.
On Monday, Bank officials were busy contacting customers that an automated recording would never request personal information. Idaho First is also assuring customers that "there has been no breach of any bank systems during this attack."

of course there was no system breach, just a phone spoof and clever con artist, the whole scam probably took about 10 minutes to perpetrate
Good Article though as not everybody thinks about these things enough to be as aware as they should...bottom line, Never give out ANY info solicited...Call your bank for yourself if asked...My mom who was elderly would talk to these kinds unknowingly. She was just a sweet woman. I would call her and pretend to be someone else disguising my voice! Then she would get mad at me for playing with her and hang up! But she caught on!! Finally, after about 5 times!! I would tell her she was an easy scam...I would rather have her mad than ripped off!
