You can bet Larry and Marianne Williams and Jerry and Muriel Caven will have pretty good seats at Boise State football games for some time to come.
Boise State announced today that the Williams and Cavens—whose names grace the 78,000 sq. ft. Caven-Williams Sports Complex at Boise State—have pledged a total of $5 million toward the expansion of Bronco Stadium.
This past summer, Boise State unveiled an ambitious $100 million expansion of the stadium that could add 19,500 seats. Phase 1 of the project would include a new football complex and 5,000 additional seats on the north end of Bronco Stadium. The first phase would also include the completion of Dona Larsen Park, across Broadway.
When Bronco Stadium opened in 1970, its original capacity was 14,500. Its current capacity is 33,500 and its proposed capacity after expansion would be 53,000.
