Saudi Arabia has been green-lighted to purchase $60 billion worth of arms from the United States. That would include 84 Boeing-built F-15 fighter bombers and upgrades to 70 other F-15s.

Top brass from the 366th Fighter Wing at MHAFB met with Mountain Home and Elmore County officials on Dec. 2 to brief them on a pending announcement. The Pentagon is expected to unveil its short list sometime this month. Other bases being mentioned include Holloman AFB in New Mexico, Hill AFB in Utah and Nellis AFB in Nevada. A full set of hearings would be required at potential base locations to inform the public on the plans.
