Posted By on Mon, Apr 25, 2011 at 2:59 PM

A funeral to remember Dr. Michael Blankenship, who died suddenly April 21 on the Boise State campus, is set for Thursday afternoon.

Blankenship was a criminal justice professor, as well as former dean of Boise State's College of Social Sciences and Public Affairs and an expert in Treasure Valley criminal justice history.

Two colleagues in Boise State's criminal justice department have requested that their scholarship, Land of Hope and Dreams Scholarship, be changed to the Michael Blankenship Social Justice Scholarship in Criminal Justice.

The service is scheduled for 3 p.m. in the Boise State Special Events Center.
