Boise State marked its largest commencement ceremony to date today, with 1,355 graduates participating. In addition, the school awarded eight doctoral degrees, the largest number in Boise State history. Student speaker Tabatha Renz was surprised this past week when her husband, a member of the 391st Combat Engineers serving in Iraq, flew in to Boise to share in the celebration.

In Moscow, 1,638 degrees were handed out at the University of Idaho's spring commencement today. Students, faculty and guests were treated to a few words and some music from commencement speaker John Clayton, the Grammy Award-winning artistic director of the Lionel Hampton Jazz Festival.
