Idaho Hispanic Population Grows by 73 Percent

Posted by George Prentice on Thu, May 26, 2011 at 3:38 PM

Idaho continues to reflect the nation's rapidly changing ethnic diversity. New figures released today by the U.S. Census Bureau show the nation's Hispanic population grew by more than 15 million between 2000 and 2010, and accounted for more than half of the total U.S. population increase of 27.3 million.

Idaho's Hispanic population reportedly jumped from 101,690 in 2000 to 175,901 in 2010, a full 73 percent increase. Idaho's overall population increased by 21.1 percent. The Magic Valley experienced the greatest Hispanic influx, while Clark, Owyhee and Power counties also saw increases.

Nationwide, Mexican origin was the largest group, representing 63 percent of the total U.S. Hispanic population. Puerto Ricans, the second largest group, comprised 9 percent in 2010.

Now they're flooding Idaho too. Hispanics reproducing at unfathomable rates while whites are literally dying out due to low birthrates. Oh god, what is this country going to be by 2050?

PortTobacco is right. Mexicans despise the US and are waging demographic warfare on our country. The loathsome globalist POS in the White House is using this to the advantage of the crooked banksters and scumbag globalists like Soros who are pulling that vile puppet's strings.

This complementary warning is originated from what used to be known as the southwest United States of America, now commonly known as Northwestern Mexico. (also formerly known as: California, Arizona, Utah and Nevada). If you like anything whatsoever about your city (whatever nice city that you may live in now) anything even remotely like the way it is, the way it has been for the past 20-years or so, I’d strongly suggest that, as soon as possible, you all do everything within your power to put an immediate stop to this “infestation,” which is commonly referred to as the “Brown Stain” back here in Northwestern Mexico. If you have one iota of doubt about the validity of this very important suggestion, here are only a few of the forthcoming issues that beautiful Boise will be faced with within the next few years, that is, if you are not already facing most of them presently. Every flat or semi-flat surface within the city will soon be spray painted with “El Tavo, Las Mamories, Se Gringos” or virtually any other number of asinine and/or illiterate examples of property damage. Emergency rooms in your hospitals will shortly resemble “South American Day at Ellis Island,” with waiting times stretching out to seven or eight hours, on average, any day of the week, any hour of the day. Hit-and-run automobile accidents (that now occur maybe a couple of times a month) will become the norm. Drunk and/or drug-induced driving incidents will almost instantly multiply ten-fold. Ninety-nine percent of them will result in hit-and-runs, so that will be kind of hard to actually verify. Automobile accidents will increase at a disproportional rate. Property damage will increase ten-fold every two years. Crime rates will escalate beyond never-even-imagined levels. Hundreds, if not thousands of more vehicles will be stolen, car jacked or simply smashed into while parked on a daily basis. My personal banking information has been stolen and cleaned-out three (3) times over the past five years, so you can also pretty much expect more of the same for Boise. High School (any school) graduation rates are guaranteed to plummet to awe-inspiring levels. And soon, entire sections of your fine city will exclusively display business names, signs, billboards, etc., only in Spanish/Mexican or some other unknown interpretation thereof. High school pregnancy rates are certain to quadruple annually. Murders will become a daily event. And best of all, Obama, Pelosi and everyone’s favorite back here in Northwestern Mexico, Harry Reid will tell you that you simply need to provide these (poor under-served) people with more entitlements (tax payer funded hand-outs) and they will quickly assimilate (destroy) the American culture. Consider yourselves warned!

The comments on this article are truly disgusting. I am saddened by the knowledge of your (previous commenters) existence, and I pity you the fear you carry.

The demographic composition of these United States have been in constant flux since the inception, and for many thousands of years before on these same lands.

We are bipeds. We walk, we move, we migrate. You will be better served by embracing the migration. Hey, maybe think about migrating yourself, or at least getting up and walking somewhere...

What I find extremely funny is that nowhere in this article, does it say that they increase in Hispanic population is due to illegal immigration. Since this is from the Census, one might guess that this is from households that identify themselves as Hispanic origin or Hispanic-American (i.e. citizens). Because I'm sure that illegals are just clamoring to have a conversation with a Census taker? So what does that mean? The same thing it meant when my Irish ancestors moved here, populated their families and moved around the nation to find a better way of life. Of course, they were also faced with the same comments (dirty, poor, drunks, they will ruin our community, etc, etc.) and violence from (ahem) 'natives' but survived, thrived and contributed fantastic contributions to America (WWII, Vietnam vets, public service, business owners, teachers, etc).
BTW - The creation and growth of gangs is a direct response to community hostility and drug trade (financing). Perhaps, if we were really concerned that one 'group' of people will contribute to an increase in crime, we should be working on those 2 things instead of wasting time arguing about articles we don't think about when we read them.

I am hispanic and I have a LARGE extended family, however NONE of us are from Mexico, and we have ZERO family from there. All of our ancestors are from the United States, though some are from states that were formerly a part of Mexico prior to the joining the union. Point being, it disgusts me how everyone is calling it an invasion by hispanics, when the most of them are citizens, and have generations of family from this country.

Educate your ignorant selves, and don't let your hate of illegal immigrants cloud your common sense!

Hey Bootycall, it is impressive that your great-grandfather preemptively escaped the Nazis 20+ years before the party actually became a political power in Germany...He should've warned his neighbors about what would happen (if he left 100+ years ago, he left before WWI, before the formation of the Nazi Party, etc.)

...Now had he left Germany due to antisemitism I can buy that...but there was no Nazi threat in 1911.

...and the Nazis used this same exact language of "pollution", "stain", "evil", "criminal", to dehumanize the Jews (as well as Leftists (socialists/communists) and homosexuals)...sound familiar anyone...try reading this article's responses with an outrageous German accent and replace "Mexican", "Hispanic", "Latino", etc. with "Jew" or "Jewish"...and voila! We see these people's true political stripes...ah, Idaho.

And the percentages are misleading. If there were only one "Mexican" in all of Idaho and his elderly mother came to live with him so he could care for her, that would be a 100% increase of Mexicans...see what I mean.

As a recent transplant from So. California, AKA Northern Mexico, I have experienced what the influx of Illigal and Legal Hispanic Americans (with family stll stuck in Mexico), can do to local and state economies. There seem to be very few conservatives in their ranks. They really do resent Americans not of their persuasion. Granted, there are some really great Mexican people in this country and many of them feel the same as I do about illegal immigration. I am here in Beautiful Idaho to be closer to our family members But, also to put distance between myself and the craziness of So California Liberals and the give away attitude of Democrats in So Cal. What has happened in California, could happen here unless we take steps now to halt the march north from Mexico.

Sadly, the Twin Falls office of ICE will cose within a year leaving the Magic Valley open to a flood of criminals. While many illegal immigrants are hard working contributors to society their younger generations seem to be more interested in joining gangs and engaging in criminal activities. Why are our elected officials allowing this to continu? I suppose we will simply have to vote elected officials out of office who refuse to enforce exisiting laws designed to protect our nation and our state from this plague.

I am appalled with most of the comments, here.

Look, people... The issue is not about race. It is about good and evil, just and unjust, right and wrong. We have been a nation of mixed people from all over the world for over two centuries, now. We haven't been perfect, and there are always bad apples in every basket. But for the most of us, we have managed to get along just fine as neighbors and community residents, as long as the "weeds" don't come along and plant dissension among us. We are most always there for each other during crisis. It takes ignorance and feeble minds to fall for the lies of dissension?

I like to think of us as a field of beautiful flowers.
Which is more beautiful?
A field full of flowers, all one kind and one color? (that is boring)
Or, a field full of flowers of all colors and kinds, with reds, blues, purples, whites, yellows, pinks, oranges, and a variety of hues? (that is breathtaking beauty in harmony)

What ruins the beautiful field of flowers are the weeds. They choke, kill, take over and destroy the beauty. The weeds are full of hate for the flowers. They are jealous of the flowers and greedy for their soil, their space, water, and sunshine. If the weeds are left to continue to share among the flowers of the field, they will destroy the field's beauty, balance, and harmony. That's what weeds do. They will even kill their own because of their hatefulness and greed. They have no honor even amongst themselves.

Most of the comments here resemble weeds.
I think it is time to nourish the flowers and uproot the weeds in the fields. It is easy to tell which they are. You will know them by their deeds.

Oh, and I am one of those "older white ones" who will soon be leaving the rest of you with the weeds. Too bad I can't leave the wisdom of experience, love of righteousness, justice, honor, and respect for others with you. It comes in handy during dire times of trouble when the weeds begin to choke all of the flowers and take over.

I've got nothing against Mexicans, in fact i like them.. but I don't care if it was 15 million Swedish underwear models, we do not need to be overrun by another culture that does not feel the need to assimilate.. We are being conquered without a shot being fired.. soon our American culture will be gone replaced with one of foreign loyalties.. Think of it this way.. if hundreds of huge troop carrier ships landed on the eastern and western seaboards and the gulf, disgorging not hundred of thousands, but millions of Chinese citizens, a veritable invasion, would we just let them? Say "oh well we are a country founded with immigrants"... that was then... Bring our troops home and station them on the border and run a contest in Popular Mechanics magazine on how to build a cotton picking fence... Why do we not build a lousy fence and stop the biggest threat to the U.S.? The invasion and colonization of America.

The census takers were not allowed to ask about citizenship!!!...So, how many are legal?? 10%???...If we are lucky!!!....LaRazza is an evil government funded ($18 million this year...$5 million last)...racist hate group that is preaching hate and discontent in this country...they have it taught in some of our schools...they forgot they were paid for the states they say are still theirs...and we pay them to try and take them back!!! These invaders come here and demand handouts...college educations...housing...welfare....food stamps..medical care...they sue for "rights" they aren't entitled too....Californai just awarded an alien 3 million dollars because his child molester ass got beat up in jail....and on and F#$%ing on!!!......Yeah...A REAL contribution aren't they?? Then lots of the money they do make, (that they do not pay taxes on) is sent back to Mexico....and why not, since we are paying for all of their needs...did I mention we pay Mexico another $80 million a year to take care of their trash???....

Idaho can't afford this!!!....

We don't need them in Boise for the ag business...almost all of our correctional institutions are in the Boise area....they can do farm work...they already log and do fire supression...and also all of the generationl white welfare rats can get off their asses and earn that check!!!!...

I also don't want their diseases....

Chagas disease
You've probably never heard of this "kissing bug disease," but Latin Americans know it all too well. And why shouldn't they? It affects more than 18 MILLION people there every year-and 50,000 of those die. In fact, it's the leading cause of heart failure in Latin America.

The bugs that spread it (triatomine bugs) are endearingly called "kissing bugs" because they prefer to feed on your lips and face. There's nothing sweet about their kisses, though. They nibble on your face while you're sleeping… then they defecate on you. If the feces enter your body through mucous membranes or breaks in your skin, you'll contract the disease.

Some people present no symptoms, and others will only end up with common cold symptoms. But the disease can also cause local swelling, enlargement of your liver or spleen, and swollen glands. It can get progressively worse from there-leading to an enlarged esophagus, enlarged heart, heart failure, altered heart rate, and sometimes cardiac arrest. Up to 30 percent will eventually die… when their heart or intestines actually explodes.

This disease isn't contagious, and chances are you won't run into these little buggers-but that doesn't mean you're free and clear. Blood tainted with Chagas disease has turned up in our blood supplies, and some transplanted organs are infected with the disease as well. Right now, there are three proven cases of people receiving Chagas-infected organs. Two of them died.
Dengue fever
This is another illness that most people in America have never heard of. But not too long ago, a Texas town that borders Mexico experienced an outbreak. Can you imagine why that could be? Maybe it has something to do with the fact that this mosquito-borne illness is on the rise in Mexico and throughout Latin America.

The classic form of the disease consists of fever, headache, muscle and joint pain, and rashes-and sometimes nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. But the hemorrhagic form isn't quite so vanilla. As the name implies, it causes both internal and external bleeding…including bloody diarrhea, vomiting blood, and bleeding from mucosa.

The only thing doctors recommend is "supportive therapy," such as staying hydrated and possibly a blood transfusion (just make sure it's not tainted with Chagas disease). In other words, there's no cure.

Cysticercosis
This is a parasitic disease caused by the pork tapeworm, and it's caused by poor food-handling practices. If you're infected, something as simple as not washing your hands after you use the restroom can cause you to contaminate food…and thereby spread it to other victims. The eggs will hatch in your intestine, and then take up residence at any given place in your body.

One man who had a chronic headache ended up having a cyst of tapeworm larvae in his brain. It could have killed him. This isn't a rare situation, either. Hundreds of others have developed neurological diseases because of this tapeworm. (Gives you something to think about when you step into a fast-food restaurant…)

Between 1990 and 2002, 221 people in the U.S. died from cysticercosis. Almost 85 percent of them were born in another country-and 62 percent of that number came from…you guessed it… Mexico. Of the 33 American who died, 60 percent were living in California.

But since cysticercosis isn't on the radar screen of most doctors and clinics, I'm betting that most cases go undiagnosed-which means that the severity of the problem is likely far greater than the numbers indicate. The easiest way to avoid this one…cook your own meals.

and my personal favorite

Morgellons
If it feels like you have bugs crawling under your skin, it might not be your imagination-especially if you live in Texas, Florida, and California, where a mysterious disease called Morgellons is crawling up from its neighbors to the south.

No one knows what causes it, how it's spread, or how to make it go away. The medical establishment has been quick to shrug it off. Victims wish they could do the same.

Victims complain of hair loss, skin thickening, fatigue and joint pain. But the worst part of all has to be unexplained black fibers that come out of their skin. One sufferer said, "It gives you the sensation that you have worms under your skin or rats crawling on you." Another said, "When you lay down, as soon as your head hits the pillow, your hair starts crawling."
3 foolproof steps we'll never take to curb illegal immigration
Of course, I could go on and on, telling you about the rise of malaria, hepatitis A, B, and C, the increase in all sorts of parasitic infections, and even HIV. But I think you've got the picture. That's a lot of sick people and a lot of serious diseases that we're not quite prepared to fight.

I'm not a fan of political correctness, so I'm not afraid to tell you that I think it's high time someone in our government did something to stop illegal immigration before it brings this country to its knees-and puts us all in the hospital. It isn't all about Mexico, but that's where a lot of it stops-and could end.

I've got a few of my own ideas of how to stop the impending economic disaster illegals represent:

A BORDER FENCE - Politicians say it'll cost too much, but even at its most expensive (an estimated $8 billion, tops), it would be cheaper than the negative lifetime economic impact of just 1.5% of the illegals already in this country.

RESCIND BENEFITS - Simply by virtue of their presence in this country, illegal immigrants are entitled to emergency health care, police and fire protection, and every right to privacy, liberty, and due process of law that all American citizens are entitled to. Many states grant them driver's licenses, and many hold mortgages and credit cards. Beyond this, their children, even if born one minute after illegally crossing the border, enjoy full U.S. citizenship, along with all the perks.

EMPLOYMENT PROHIBITIONS - Making it a felony for anyone in America to hire an illegal immigrant could go a long way toward discouraging those bent on hopping the border to make a living. If the money river dries up, the "fish" will swim back from whence they came.

Doing just these three things would neutralize the illegal immigrant threat almost overnight. If we did these things, we wouldn't even NEED to make illegal entry or occupancy a crime (another measure being discussed by Republicrats). Nor would we have to go through the costly process of mass deportations.

If illegals found they couldn't work, get benefits, or guarantee their unborn automatic citizenship, they'd go home and make Mexico all it could be (which was the goal of the all-but defunct NAFTA"""'

*******************************************************************
Legal immigration need reformed too....over a million a year!!!...Plus the Green card lottery!!!....The old come to get their checks...(((If you haven't paid...you get nothing!!!...period!!))......and the young and uneducated come here to rape, kill, maim, molest our people and disrespect our country...F%#$ That!!

Darn, when I moved up here from Colorado, I didn't expect to find so many hispanics. They've ruined Colorado (along with the developers) and now they're here messing up Idaho. Wake up Idaho. Please get serious about handling the problem before it's too late. City, County & State officials are you listening? Beware, and look at what has happened in other states.
Then there's all those Californians, but that's another story.
And all the developers - they're here to get rich and to heck with your beautiful farm lands and country-side & mountains.

but we need the mexicans so they can work in the farms because white folk are too good for it.(Been hearing this for years but people never look to the future) The problem is they didn't stay in the farms. They took all the public assistance they could, lived 10-30 in a house, never had to pay for electricity, food or rent (all subsidized) - started buying property, educating their children and are now controlling everything. I can't count the number of jobs I didn't get because I wasn't a minority or I didn't speak spanish.

Ok, people America always has been compose of different cultures and legal or illegal imigrants. The original legit residents of this country was the native americans. And their culture, race and land was completely invaded by many other groups that came and settle in this country. And even the Native Americans had to adapt to the changes that those groups impose on their lives because they were conquered. That means that there is not a specific culture and language that wont suffer changes as a result of the mixture of other cultures and words that come with other groups that migrate to this country. What some of you guys call social and culture invasion is just a natural social evolution that in history has happened to other countries in the past. That is why our English language is different from the language England. Been afraid of cultural changes is not the solution. Embrace the positive things of every culture, respect other traditions and be positive towards the future. And God bless America!!!

I know a lot of Basque people in Idaho who are still very attached to their Basque heritage, yet are fully assimilated into the American way of life. When I was a small child, there was a lot of tension between Basques and "whites" but now that is gone. Hispanics from south of the border have been and will continue to assimilate into the broader American culture, and aspects of their culture will be engrained within the broader culture. So it has been since settlers landed at Plymouth Rock, so it will remain as long as immigration occurs. Hispanic immigrants are no different than any other group that has migrated to the United States with the exception that many more have arrived here illegally because of changes in immigration law and their physical proximity to the United States. Just like past immigrants, these people are seeking a better way of life for their children and are willing to bear many hardships to accomplish that dream. We should be proud to live in a country that inspires the aspirations of millions from all around the world. I see every new immigrant as another worker who will keep my social security solvent. If we could legalize them all, so much the better.
