The last day for classes in Boise public schools is Friday, so right on schedule, municipal pools will open the same day.

Citydesk caught Boise Parks and Recreation crews busy getting the tarps off at Ivywild pool today. Ivywild will open Friday afternoon, along with the Borah, Fairmont, Lowell and South pools, as well as the Natatorium (which dates back to 1892).

Youth season swim passes start at $30 for Boise residents. A season family pass, which includes up to five family members, costs $114 for city residents.

Similar to previous years, youth swim classes will be available at all six pools, and teen splash parties will be held for youth ages 12-17 on Friday nights.
