Rivers Taps Funds for Holiday Market in Niagara Falls

Boise developer Mark Rivers is moving forward with his plans to organize a $1 million holiday festival. But it's two time zones away from Idaho.

Rivers has secured financial support from a broadcast group, a hotel and casino run by the Seneca Indian tribe, and Wegmans (a large New York-based grocery chain) to help fund a holiday marketplace set for Niagara Falls, N.Y. Rivers grew up in the small town of Ellicotville, south of Buffalo. Rivers secured suport from Niagara Falls and New York State officials to hold what he calls a European-style holiday market for 36 days between Thanksgiving and New Years.

"On some aspects of it, I think we are actually moving ahead of plan and schedule," Rivers told the Niagara Gazette.
