E. Coli Warning at Lucky Peak

Posted By on Sat, Jul 9, 2011 at 2:38 PM

Almost one year to the day from a high bacteria alert at Lucky Peak Reservoir, Idaho's Dept. of Environmental Quality has identified E. coli bacteria levels at the Sandy Point Beach access at Lucky Peak. The excess levels of E. coli indicate the presence of human or animal waste presenting a possible threat to public health.

DEQ officials are recommending against swimming or wading at Sandy Point Beach until further notice. Routine monitoring will continue to assess bacteria levels.
