Yellow Air Alert for Treasure Valley

Posted By on Mon, Jul 11, 2011 at 9:09 AM

This week begins where last week ended, with a yellow air quality alert for the Treasure Valley. The Department of Environmental Quality has again issued a moderate ozone warning, meaning people with sensitive lungs, like those with respiratory issues, should consider limiting prolonged or heavy exertion outdoors.

The Air Quality Index is forecast to hit 58, just shy of the threshold of 60 when burning restrictions are put in place. If the AQI tops 100, an orange alert is issued and an AQI of 151 means the air quality is unhealthy for everyone.
