Four-hundred airmen from the 366th Fighter Wing are slated to return to Mountain Home Air Force Base Wednesday from Bagram Air Base following seven months of combat operations in Afghanistan.

Aircrews flew thousands of close-air support missions in F-15E Strike Eagles, alongside the 399th Fighter Squadron.

"This is why we exist and what we train for every day," said Col. Ron Buckley, 366th Fighter Wing commander.
