An Idaho offshoot of the Occupy Wall Street movement, which is entering its third week today, is scheduled to take its issues to Capitol Park Wednesday, Oct. 5.
"The basic tenets of OccupyBOI and the larger Occupy Together movement are an objection to the overwhelming influence of big business in national and global politics, their ability to purchase public policy and the unjust concentration of wealth in the United States and abroad," said Tom Kershaw, spokesman for OccupyBOI.
Citydesk reported Friday that OccupyBOI met in Julia Davis Park, drawing a crowd of roughly 150 people for what the group called a general assembly for planning.
Some 700 members of the New York demonstration were arrested Sunday when they took their protest march to the Brooklyn Bridge. The group has returned to its makeshift headquarters in lower Manhattan today, not far from Wall Street.
