Beginning with the Tuesday, Nov. 29, City Council session, Boise is shifting the majority of its public meetings over to the State Capitol building. The move will be part of the first phase of a major construction upgrade at Boise City Hall.
In addition to evening City Council meetings, evening sessions of the Planning and Zoning Commission, Historic Preservation Commission and the Design Review Committee will also be shifted to the Capitol Auditorium, in the west underground wing off Eighth Street. Daytime council meetings, held once a month, along with council work sessions will still be held at City Hall.
City Hall departments will remain open during the construction because most of the work is expected to take place at night. The work is expected to be finished by December 2012.
