crime Skinhead Knocked Out by Victim Now Faces Hate-Crime Sentence

The Coeur d'Alene Press reports that a north Idaho man entered a so-called "Alford" plea on Thursday, admitting that there was enough evidence to convict him of a hate crime.
Prosecutors said that Daren Abbey had threatened to stab a black man, saying "blacks were not welcome in Bayview and he had better leave before something happened," according to police. Abbey then allegedly poked the victim in the chest.
But Abbey, a self-proclaimed skinhead who sports several neo-Nazi tatoos, got knocked out with one punch by the black man during the July 3 incident. Abbey later told officials that he felt he had been "hit by a brick." Abbey apparently was unaware of the writing on the back of the black man's T-shirt: "Spokane Boxing Club Champion."
Abbey was charged with felony malicious harassment (Idaho's hate-crime law) and battery. He was released, but will need to return to court on March 9 for sentencing.

LOVE this :) good job to the man who did what most ALL of us would like to do. What isn't welcome in our Idaho towns are moronic hate preaching diptards like Daren Abbey!! I say we make July 3rd "Punch a Bigot Day" in Idaho.

I actually worked with his twin brother Dustin in Wyoming. He's a good kid. Darren on the other hand is a total moron.
Karma bites...they guy looks like an emotional wreck...who brainwashed that poor guy. He probably could have grown up to be a nice person if the KKK idiots didn't program him.
Sometimes, even in real life, some stories have a happy ending. Would that the victim had a brain, he would think about what happened and gain insight. Sadly, the incident likely will further his hatred and ignorance.
Before the skinhead got knocked out his was heard to say "I am cornholio, I need TP for my bunghole."

Idaho Conservative, you're right. Social conservatives can't help being born with low IQs any more than anyone can help being born a given race. We shouldn't be prejudiced against social conservatives just for being dumber than average.

Being in possession of a "Big Brain" TM, I can say that I am not especially socially conservative and neither is any other "Big Brain" I know with 2 exceptions (no I'm not from ID but I'm from AZ- not exactly a commie state) and while I see the connection between low IQ and unexamined uninformed opinion (prejudice) I am not so sure that the lefty scum who wrote that paper understand social conservatives or why they are inportant even for those of us who disagree with them. In fact having read a large chunk f the paper - I think it's a hit job within acadamia.

This story gives me a chuckle every time I read it. It's beautiful, really, in it's simple justice.
Awesome justice delivered from a real American out of Spokane! So everyone understands: Neo-nazis, skinheads or racists are not welcomed in Idaho or anywhere of God's plan.
Skin heads would serve their time out better on this planet holding up targets for artillery practice, they have small minds mostly filled with hate, their only way to gain self esteem is to knock others down. Fellow that busted his chops an American Hero.
