Twitter boasts more than 100 million active users, posting an average of 250 million tweets a day. Company officials said new accounts increased by 25 percent just since October.
Most of the new changes are expected to occur on Twitter's navigation bar. A new "connect" section is being promised to make it quicker for users to see what's being said about them in other tweets. A section called "discover" is supposed to make it easier to browse through subjects by hash tags. Twitter is also expected to expand profile pages to accommodate more detailed information in texts, photos and video.
