Micron Cuts $2.5 Million Check for Building Remodel

Posted By on Wed, Jan 25, 2012 at 9:22 AM

Micron, already boasting a significant presence at Boise State, today announced a $2.5 million gift to the College of Western Idaho. Additionally, CWI announced it would put Micron's name on its soon-to-be-renovated professional technical center.

The J.A. and Kathryn Albertson Foundation purchased the building and later gifted it to CWI. The college has been remodeling the future professional center since May 2011. The college announced today that the Micron gift will help it complete the $16.9 million renovation.

Micron Technology and its foundation have contributed $13 million toward a Boise State campaign to help launch a doctoral program in materials science and engineering. That git came on top of a $12.5 million donation to help build Boise State's new College of Business and Economics center, under construction at Capitol Boulevard and University Drive. The Micron donations are, to date, the two largest gifts ever given to Boise State.
