Taxi Driver Charged With DUI, Crashing Into Police Car

Posted By on Fri, Feb 10, 2012 at 3:11 PM

Boise Police charged a local taxi driver for driving under the influence this morning. To make matters worse, the cabbie's vehicle hit a Garden City Police patrol car at the intersection of Adams Street and Veterans Memorial Parkway. It was the taxi driver's second DUI arrest (he was previously charged in Kootenai County in November 2003).

Boise police said James Huffman of Boise was driving north on VMP, ran a red light, and collided with the patrol vehicle. Boise Police responded to the scene at the request of Garden City Police.

Huffman was reportedly on his way to work and did not have a passenger inside the cab at the time of the crash.
