Idaho Republicans (and more than a few independents) may be interested to know that Texas Congressman Ron Paul will be the next GOP presidential hopeful to come to Idaho.
Paul will be appearing at a town hall-type rally at Twin Falls Senior High School Thursday, Feb. 16, at noon. The campaign appearance will be part of a two-day blitz of Idaho and Washington by Paul.
Paul handily won the first-ever Idaho Republican Party Presidential Straw Poll on Jan. 6, garnering 43 percent of the vote, compared to Mitt Romney's 34 percent, Newt Gringrich's 12 percent and Rick Santorum's 10 percent.
Paul does not have any Treasure Valley campaign events scheduled. His last appearance in Boise was March 27, 2010.
Paul's Magic Valley rally comes on the heels of Santorum's two Idaho appearances on Tuesday - one in Coeur d'Alene and another in Boise, and Romney's Boise fundraisers and campaign rally slated for Friday, Feb. 17.
