Following a nationally televised debate Wednesday, when some dubbed him as passive and pleasant, the feisty Newt Gingrich re-emerged Thursday night in Coeur d'Alene.
"Combative Newt Gingrich Returns," read this morning's headline on Politico.com.
According to Politico, Gingrich "once again abandoned his vow to run a positive campaign and relaunched a wide-ranging attack on Mitt Romney, mocking his claim that he's 'severely conservative,' dubbing him an 'amateur' and hitting him on health care and taxes."
"Gov. Romney at times is severely distant from the facts," said Gingrich before at a crowd of hundreds at the Coeur d'Alene Inn. "Replacing a liberal amateur with a moderate amateur won't get you very far."
