Former U.S. Attorney Betty Richardson announced Friday that she'll be running for Idaho Senate in West Boise's District 15.
In her announcement, Richardson said Boise Mayor Dave Bieter and former Gov. Cecil Andrus would serve as her campaign's co-chairs.
Richardson said her campaign would have three "touchstones: an economy that works for everyone, a public school system that is properly funded and turns out young people prepared to succeed in the world, and a state government that is open, transparent, and free of the undue influence of special interest."
Earlier this week, Boise business owner Fred Martin announced that he'll be running for the same senate seat.
