Boise Democratic Rep. Cherie Buckner-Webb formally announced Saturday that she'll be running for the Senate seat in Legislative District 19 being vacated by outgoing Sen. Nicole LeFavour.
Buckner-Webb praised LeFavour and other previous Democratic legislators in her announcement:
"I do so acknowledging the greats who have preceded me: Senators Gail Bray, Sue Reents, Betsy Dunklin, Mike Burkett and Nicole LeFavour."
LeFavour announced last Friday that she would be stepping down after four terms in the Idaho Legislature. She wasted no time in endorsing Buckner-Webb.
"Cherie brings a huge depth of knowledge, passion and power to the Senate," said LeFavour. "I know my colleagues and our district knows her to be an amazingly effective advocate for the issues I have cared about all these years."
