Thinking about getting a new iPad? Hold that thought.
Demand for the new version of iPad is so strong that customers who pre-ordered the device won't receive it until March 19 at the earliest. Apple had originally said the pre-ordered iPads would reach customers March 16 at the latest.
AT&T and Verizon are only taking customers' email addresses for later notification when the tablet becomes available.
According to Computerworld, resellers are taking advantage of supply shortages by trying to sell the new iPad on eBay at more than three times the listed price. Current listings on eBay indicate that prices of 4G tablets are running as high as $2,799.
Apple said it will continue to sell the iPad 2 but recently dropped its price by $100.
