A Grangeville man is facing some hefty fines and charges after he set off a stink bomb at the Asotin County Courthouse.
The Lewiston Tribune reports that Charles Rogers said he was ticked over an animal cruelty charge that he allegedly left his dog in a car while shopping at Costco. Rogers said he bought the 31-cent novelty item at a gas station and busted the stink bomb, releasing a sulfer-like smell and resulting in the evacuation of the courthouse.
He ended up paying $5,000 to get out of jail and cover his attorney's fees, another $1,440 in fines and fees, he had to replace some of the courthouse carpet and has to perform 200 hours of community service. He ended up pleading guilty to second-degree malicious mischief, a Class C felony.
