Boise Police Investigate Possible Gang-Related Shooting

Posted By on Mon, Apr 16, 2012 at 9:06 AM

The Boise Police Gang Unit and Violent Crimes Unit are investigating what they think was a gang-related shooting in the middle of downtown Boise early Sunday morning.

Boise Police said officers got to the scene of the shooting, the southeast corner of Capitol Boulevard and Main Street, fast, but by then, two suspects had already fled, leaving a 37-year-old Twin Falls man shot in the leg. Police said the man was treated and released from a local hospital.

Police don't have much of a description to go on. They said one suspect was 5-foot, 5-inches to 5-foot, 8-inches tall with a slender build, a shaved head and wearing a red plaid jacket. But considering that the streets and downtown bars were still packed at the time of the shooting, approximately 1:15 a.m., law enforcement is hoping that someone will come forward with information. They're asked to call Crime Stoppers at 208-343-COPS.
