An Idaho state prison inmate, awaiting a hearing in the Adams County community of Council, was found hanging by the neck in his Adams County jail cell early Saturday morning. The Adams County Sheriff's Office is investigating the death.

Levi Jones, 20, had already been convicted for a string of burglaries in Boise, Canyon and Washington counties and had been transferred to Adams County to face charges under another outstanding warrant.

Following the Adams County investigation, the Idaho Department of Correction will perform an incident review.
