Security Tightened at Sun Valley City Offices

Posted By on Wed, May 2, 2012 at 9:13 AM

Security has been increased at city offices in Sun Valley in the wake of a series of break-ins at the Sun Valley Fire Station, where personnel files were reportedly deleted. The missing records, reported to Sun Valley police on March 7, was the latest incident in a string of events, including the city's fire chief being put on administrative leave since last fall and an internal audit of accounting practices that "officials felt merited further review."

This morning's Idaho Mountain Express reports that Sun Valley Mayor Dewayne Briscoe has had the doors to city offices re-keyed and ordered staff to move files from the fire station to City Hall. The Mountain Express also reported that a new security system, with traceable keys, has been installed along with a new IT server with restricted access.
