Dave Case, who just last week upset incumbent Ada County Commissioner Sharon Ullman in the GOP Primary, has been hand-picked by Gov. C.L. "Butch" Otter to join the commission sooner than later.
Even though Case still has to face Democrat Thomas Howell and independent Jon Howard in November, he'll be sworn in to the Ada County Commission next Tuesday, to fill the vacancy left by the resignation of Vern Bisterfeldt. Bisterfeldt endorsed Case's campaign against Ullman.
Case was one of three nomines considered by Otter, including Dan Dunham and Gordon Browning.
Case is an Ada County Highway District commissioner, a position he'll resign before taking the oath of office, and is a former Idaho State trooper and former hearing officer for the Idaho Commission of Pardons and Parole.
Case will be sworn in on Tuesday, May 29, at the Ada County Courthouse.
