The Karney Fire has burned more than 430 acres.

More than 220 firefighting personnel made progress Wednesday in their effort to quell the Karney Fire, burning near Robie Creek Road in Boise County.

An infrared flyover last night helped locate the fire's hotter areas, enabling firefighters to focus their attack today where intense heat is detected near the flames.

The Karney Fire has now spread to more than 430 acres and is currently 20 percent contained.

An incident management team arrived on the scene last night, including local, state and federal employees.
