A Horizon Airlines flight attendant was arrested late Friday night, accused of stealing an iPad from a passenger. She was charged with theft and computer crime and was released Saturday after posting $12,500 bail at the Clackamas County Jail in Oregon.
The Associated Press reports that Oregon City law enforcement tracked a lost iPad to the home of 43-year-old Wendy Dye, who initially told police that she had planned on returning the iPad to airline officials. But investigators told the AP that they discovered Dye had already put personal information on the device.
The owner of the iPad used an app called Find My iPad to locate the device. He downloaded the anti-theft app only days before his September 11 flight, and activated the app on September 19 to assist law enforcement.
While the iPad is being returned to its owner in Reno, Nev., Dye has been suspended by Horizon pending an investigation.
