Idaho's air quality experts are looking for a good chance of showers today to reduce the region's smoke, which has pumped into the Treasure Valley from wildfires in Idaho, Oregon and Washington. In the meantime, Idaho's Department of Environmental Quality issued an orange alert with an air quality index of 135. A mandatory burn ban is also in effect for Ada County. The alert is expected to stay in effect until Monday afternoon.
The National Weather Service office in Boise is looking for isolated showers or thunderstorms continuing into tonight. But sunny, warm days are expected for much of the week ahead, with highs near 80 by next weekend.
