A second parent of a Canyon County child has come forward to complain about the use of a so-called "quiet room" at local elementary schools.

This morning's Idaho Press-Tribune reports that the new allegation came one day after James Cagle of Caldwell said his 5-year-old son was placed in isolation—alone and in the dark—for more than an hour at Washington Elementary in the Caldwell School District.

The Press-Tribune quotes Nichole Decker, a parent of a child at East Canyon Elementary in the Vallivue School District, saying her 5-year-old son was sent into a "full-blown panic" when he was placed in a quiet room for disciplinary reasons.

"He had head-to-toe hives, because he was having trouble breathing," Decker told the Press-Tribune.

Vallivue School District officials promised to investigate the incident beginning next week.
