Boise Police officers, working undercover with a group of teens, didn't waste any time in the New Year before reminding local retailers, restaurants and bars of the rules against serving alcohol to minors.

Law enforcement conducted the compliance checks on Friday, Jan. 4, checking 43 Boise establishments.

Boise Police said four locations sold alcohol to minors. Three of the four sold alcohol to a minor who was only 17 years old.

Eight employees of the four businesses received violation citations. Of the eight, four servers were given citations for failure to have server training.

Police said the violating establishments were:

-20th Century Lanes Bowling Alley at 4712 State St.
-Green Chile at 5616 State St.
-Maverik Country Store at 5200 Chinden Blvd.
-Shotsie's at 6100 State St.
