Children Rushed to Hospital Following Boise School Bus Crash

Boise Police ticketed an Emmet woman after she reportedly slammed into a school bus with 26 children aboard just before noon today.

Seven of the children were taken to nearby hospitals for treatment of pain, bumps and bruises. None of the children's injuries appeared to be serious, according to Boise Police.

Law enforcement said the driver of the car, a 72-year-old woman, was not hurt but was cited for making an improper left turn. The woman has not been identified by Boise Police.

Police said the car and bus were both traveling west on Front Street at approximately 11:30 a.m., when the car suddenly turned left, in an effort to turn south onto 13th Street. The car slammed into the rear half of the school bus, which was filled with seventh-graders from Sage Valley Middle School in Nampa. The school children were returning to Nampa after a visit to Boise's Discovery Center.
