Bomb Threat, Shooting Incident at Magic Valley Schools

Posted By on Fri, Feb 22, 2013 at 9:20 AM

Twin Falls television station KMVT reports that Magic Valley police had their hands full with two incidents at two schools—one in Twin Falls and another in Wendell.

Law enforcement was called to Canyon Ridge High School in Twin Falls after rumors of a bomb threat began sweeping through the school near the end of the day on Wednesday, Feb. 20. Police traced the rumor to the home of a teenager who they said was not a student at the school. KMVT reports that police "banned the teen from all Twin Falls School District properties." The incident has been turned over to the Twin Falls Prosecutor's Office.

Meanwhile, a 17-year-old student was led away in handcuffs from Wendell High School Tuesday, Feb. 19, after police said the boy fired a BB gun at fellow students in the school's parking lot. The teenager faces charges of possession of a firearm on school property, discharging a firearm in city limits, and shooting at others without injury.
