A former Idaho corrections officer is behind bars following allegations of having sexual relations with an inmate.
Roberto Guiller Escobedo, 30, of Nyssa, Ore., served as an employee the Idaho Department of Correction, working at the Idaho State Correctional Institution from June 7, 2010, to Jan. 23, 2013, according to a release issued by the department Friday.
Escobedo is alleged to have had sexual contact with one of the 1,600-plus inmates incarcerated at the ISCI, located south of Boise.
An investigation launched by IDOC's Office of Professional Standards led to Escobedo's felony charge. By policy, all felony criminal investigations are referred to local law enforcement.
