Slingshot and marbles seized in felony arrests.

Two men have been locked up for what Boise Police said was a rash of vandalism incidents across the Treasure Valley.

Starting approximately three weeks ago, law enforcement began receiving what ended up being close to 100 reports of vandalism in Boise neighborhoods. Officers theorized that the suspects had used slingshots and steel marbles to break windows of parked cars, homes and other targets. Police said they have evidence that links the suspects to other incidents of vandalism in Ada and Canyon counties. The damage is estimated to have exceeded $30,000.

Tyler Bartlet, 20, of Nampa was arrested March 15, and 21-year-old Devon Anderson of Boise was arrested Monday. Both have been sent to the Ada County lockup.

Both men are charged with a felony count of malicious injury to property.

"This is an expensive crime, but there is an additional cost to the innocent victims, who discovered their vehicles have been damaged for no apparent reason," said neighborhood contact officer Terry Weir. "Boise is a family oriented community and this kind of random senseless crime really affects our neighborhoods."
