Posted By on Tue, Mar 19, 2013 at 3:04 PM

The Idaho Fish and Game Commission announced changes to its big game seasons, including gray wolf, deer, elk, pronghorn, black bear and mountain lion.

The commission decided to extend hunting seasons on private land in Idaho's Panhandle Zone to year-round, as well as extend hunting seasons in the Middle Fork, Beaverhead and Island Park zones. Fish and Game will also expand trapping to portions of units in the Panhandle and Palouse-Hells Canyon zones and to some private lands in the McCall-Weiser Zone.

Among the other changes OK'd by the commission:

- increased controlled elk hunt tags
- increased pronghorn tags
- increased harvest in some units for black bear hunts
- extended season for mountain lion hunts in the Panhandle Zone

Details of the changes to the big game hunting seasons are posted on the Fish and Game website.
