A Boise man cooled his heels in the Ada County Jail April 3 after being confronted by Boise Police in the beer cooler of a local convenience store.

Law enforcement responded to a report of a theft at the store on the 3400 block of West State Street April 3. Employees said they discovered the suspect in the store's beer cooler and that's when he grabbed some beer and made a quick exit without paying. Police found the suspect a short time later drinking the beer. During his arrest, police said the suspect kicked officers and attempted to head butt them.

34-year-old Leroy Whitehawk is charged with a felony count of assault and battery on an officer, petit theft, resisting and obstructing and possession of an open container.

Kristine Shatto, 18, is charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver and providing false information.

Boise Police also say they arrested a Boise woman April 3 on charges of intent to deliver marijuana and mushrooms. The arrest followed an investigation at a residence on the 3500 block of West Chinden Boulevard where officers discovered marijuana and mushrooms along with digital scales. Police also said the suspect lied during the investigation.

18-year-old Kristine Shatto was charged with a felony count of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver and providing false information.
