Good luck trying to get a hold of some of the City of Boise's top officials: A good many of them are in Sun Valley.
The Boise Metro Chamber of Commerce is holding its annual leadership conference, with a theme of "Building Livable Cities in the Boise Valley," at the Sun Valley Resort. The conference got underway April 21 and runs through Tuesday, April 23. The conference offers a myriad of sessions, considering arts and culture, recreation and open space, education and one particular presentation from the Urban Land Institute that should garner a bit of attention: "Why Good Could Come to Boise."
And the City of Boise has sent a rather substantive list of attendees:
Boise Mayor Dave Bieter
City Council President Maryanne Jordan
City Council Member Elaine Clegg
City Council Member Lauren McLean
City Council Member Ben Quintana
City of Boise Planning and Development Director Derick O'Neill
City of Boise Assistant for Economic Development Cece Gassner
City of Boise Assistant for Economic Development John Brunelle
Each has been budgeted more than $800 for expenses to attend the conference.
Ada County also has sent two of its three County Commissioners to the conference:
Ada County Board of County Commissioners Chairman Dave Case
Ada County Commissioner Rick Yzaguirre
Additionally, the Ada County Highway District has sent two of its officials:
ACHD Commissioner Jim Hansen
ACHD Deputy Director of Planning and Projects Dave Wallce
