Boise Motorcyclist, Without Helmet, Killed in Late Night Crash

Boise Police said a motorcycle driver was not wearing a helmet or any protective gear when he crashed his cycle late May 26 on Fairview Avenue. The motorcyclist was rushed to a nearby hospital but was pronounced dead a short time later.

The motorcyclist was traveling westbound in the far right lane when he was hit by a vehicle traveling eastbound and turning north onto Bryson Road, just east of Cloverdale Road.

Witnesses told officers that the motorcyclist was traveling at a high rate of speed and was passing vehicles on the right as traveled down Fairview Ave.

A passenger in the vehicle which struck the motorcycle was also transported to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The driver was not injured.

The identification of the motorcyclist, a young man from Boise, is being witheld pending notification of next of kin.
