One day after the Coeur d'Alene City Council voted to join four other Idaho cities to Add the Words, advocates said the next step was to take a breath.
"These things wind up being a great celebration," Tony Stewart of the city's Human Rights Task Force on Human Relations told the Coeur d'Alene Press. "It's a tremendous amount of work."
Stewart cautioned that it would take a while before neighboring North Idaho cities might take up the legislation which extends anti-discrimination protections to gay, lesbian, transgender and bisexual individuals.
"You have to focus on one place at a time."
Officials in Dalton Gardens, Hayden, Post Falls and Rathdrum all told the Press that they didn't have any immediate plans to Add the Words.
"We will maintain our holding pattern and see what the future brings," Post Falls Mayor Clay Larkin told the Press.
