Times-News: Idaho Man Nearly Beaten to Death in Shoshone 'Fight Club'

Somebody clearly talked about "fight club."

This morning's Twin Falls Times-News reports that a man was flown via air ambulance to a Boise hospital after being beaten to a pulp in a so-called "fight club" boxing match the evening of July 8 in Shoshone.

"It's a group of guys who like to to get together and box each other. This one just gout out of hand," Shoshone Police Sgt. Michael Thompson told the Times-News. "[The fight club] moves around a lot."

But a 911 call from the fight club said a victim's head had "cracked open in the back."

When emergency responders arrived on the scene in the 200 block of South Apple Street in Shoshone, they found 19-year-old Blue Hadden rolling around in pain, crying and screaming with blood covering his face. He was initially listed in critical condition at St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise but has been upgraded to serious.

Meanwhile, 25-year-old William Greener, also of Shoshone, was arrested on suspicion of battery. Greener told authorities that the group had been having similar matches for a while, and while other people had been knocked out, no one ever called paramedics.
