CWI Looking to Outsource IT

Posted By on Sat, Jul 20, 2013 at 11:00 AM

The College of Western Idaho, which offers postsecondary education in information technical fields and hands out Associate of Applied Sciences degrees for network administration and information security, in addition to advanced technical certificates, is exploring options to outsource its IT services.

This morning's Idaho Press-Tribune reports that CWI officials have received proposals from outside companies to take over its information technology department and could make a decision within a week that may turn over its IT to a third party.

Jennifer Couch, CWI communications and marketing director, told the Press-Tribune that the otusourcing was part of the college's strategic plan, not necessarily designed to save money.

Currently, CWI employs 25 individuals in its IT department
