Jodi Bassett, 35, is charged with first degree arson and three felony counts of injury to a child.

A Garden City woman is behind bars, charged with starting a house on fire in December 2012, while three children were left inside the home.

Boise Firefighters were called to a house fire Dec. 19, 2012, on the 3900 block of S. Yorktown Way. That's where neighbors reported explosions coming come the house. Firefighters found the front windows blown out and a garage door bulging in the middle. One explosion had knocked a living room off the foundation.

Three children inside the home were able to escape without injury, but fire investigators said the cause of the fire was suspicious.

The children have not been in the custody of the suspect since the incident.

35-year-old Jodi Bassett of Garden City was arrested Oct. 2 after Ada County Prosecutors issued a warrant for her arrest on a felony charge of arson and three felony counts of injury to a child.
