The College of Idaho announced this morning that its newest addition—the first new building on campus since 2002—would be named for its long-time Athletic Director Marty Holly. The Marty Holly Athletics Center, currently under construction, is expected to open in the summer of 2014.
Holly is in his 33rd year at the C of I and is credited as being instrumental in the reinstatement of the College's football program, which will begin its first season since 1977 in the fall of 2014.
When completed, the $4 million athletic center will be the C of I's primary training facility. A $1.2 million Outdoor Education Center will follow in the second phase of the project.
