Members of a crisis response team—including trained crisis counselors—are offering support to students at Hailey's Wood River High School this week, after the announcement of a student's sudden death.

This morning's Twin Falls Times-News reports that Wood River High School staff met early Jan. 7 before the start of school before telling students during the first period class.

The school also announced on its website that 18-year-old Lance Coulthard, a senior, had died suddenly Jan. 3.

"We are heartbroken over Lane's death. Our thoughts and support go out to his family, his friends and the entire community at this difficult time," the school said in a statement.

No details surrounding the circumstances of the student's death were shared.

A community memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 11, at 4:30 p.m. at the Presbyterian Church of the Big Wood in Ketchum.
