Video: BYU-Idaho Produces Video, Comparing Masturbation to War

BYU-Idaho is warning its Eastern Idaho students, in a startling anti-masturbation video, that self-pleasure is equivalent to war.

The video, produced by BYU-Idaho's Housing and Student Living Office, begins with a young male who appears to be watching porn, but then the video takes a very strange turn.

"The young man is spiritually wounded on the battlefield of the Great War," university President Kim Clark says in a voice-over as the video depicts a World War-style battlefield. "In our modern society, the enemy has spread fear of getting involved when someone’s in trouble and has fostered a social stigma against people who speak up in the face of evil."

Simply put, the university is encouraging students to reports friends, or even themselves, if they suspect that they are masturbating too much.

“Don’t be silent," says Clark in the video. "Don’t leave the wounded on the battlefield.”

The story has already been picked up by media outlets across the U.S. and the Huffington Post reports that, perhaps not surprisingly, there's already a parody of the video making the rounds online.
