Idaho Man Threatens Goodwill Employees, Steals and Wrecks Truck

There were some tense moments in downtown Lewiston Wednesday, when a man claiming to have a gun stole a Goodwill truck.

The incident began when employees of Advanced Fire Protection on Lewiston's Idaho Street said a man, identified as 34-year-old Ruben Ramirez, claimed to have a gun and demanded the keys to a company car. Employees said they ignored the suspect, prompting the man to leave, but he appeared a short while later at Goodwill Industries, again saying he had a gun and demanding the keys to their truck. This time, Goodwill employees gave the man the keys.

That's when Lewiston Police, assisted by Washington State Police, pursued the vehicle, which ended in a collision on Lewiston's Main Street, in front of the Cedars Inn. Ramirez was charged with robbery, attempted robbery, grand theft, leaving the scene of an accident, and driving without privileges.
