Boise Pride Week, which experienced significant growth in its 20 years of celebrating freedom of expression, will need a new sponsor if there's any chance of being around for 20 more years.
On March 7, the board of directors of Boise Pride, Inc. voted to dissolve the nonprofit.
"The B.O.D. wishes to express its deepest regrets to the community and would like to encourage and offer its assistance to any other community organization(s) or parties that may wish to organize and produce the 2014 Pride Festival," said a statement from the board. "The B.O.D. has determined that the legal entity of Boise Pride is no longer sustainable and can longer support its purpose."
Last year's Boise Pride Festival, held in June, featured a parade, movie night, tennis party and talent competition.
